GitHub adds Copilot flex allotments and launches a $100 Max plan

GitHub announced changes to its individual Copilot plans ahead of the June 1 move to usage-based billing. The originally announced included usage levels were not enough for longer agent runs, heavier multi-step work, and more capable models.

Pro will remain $10 per month and include $10 in base credits plus $5 in flex allotment for $15 total included usage. Pro+ will remain $39 per month and include $39 in base credits plus $31 in flex allotment for $70 total. GitHub also introduced a new Max plan at $100 per month with $100 in base credits plus $100 in flex allotment for $200 total included usage.

Base credits remain fixed at a 1:1 match to subscription price, while flex allotments may change over time with model pricing, model availability, and efficiency improvements. Code completions and next edit suggestions remain unlimited on paid plans and do not consume credits.
