Google says Gemini has reached about 900 million regular users

Google says Gemini now has about 900 million regular users, a large increase from the previous year as the company expands AI features across consumer products.

The figure was highlighted during coverage of Google I/O. Google has been adding Gemini features across search, Android, Gmail, Docs, Chrome, and other products with large existing user bases.

OpenAI has said ChatGPT reaches about 900 million weekly users. Anthropic’s Claude remains more focused on business and professional use.

Google is also expanding agent-style features that can help users complete tasks across web pages and apps. The company’s consumer AI strategy uses Gemini both as a standalone product and as an AI layer inside existing Google services.
