Meta Begins Testing Paid Subscriptions for Meta AI

Meta will begin testing paid subscriptions for its Meta AI app and website next month, creating the company’s first direct user-paid revenue stream for AI features.

The company confirmed two plans: Meta One Plus at $7.99 per month and Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month. The premium tier gives users more computing capacity, more advanced responses, and additional tools for creators and businesses. Meta will continue offering a free version of Meta AI.

The test will begin in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia. Meta’s head of product, Naomi Gleit, said the paid plans are intended for users who want more capacity, more complex requests, and more room to create.

The launch moves Meta closer to the subscription models already used by OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. It also gives Meta a way to monetize AI outside advertising as it continues investing heavily in models, apps, and AI features across its consumer platforms.
