NVIDIA and IREN announce a strategic partnership to support up to 5 gigawatts of AI infrastructure

NVIDIA and IREN announced a strategic partnership on May 7 to support deployment of up to 5 gigawatts of NVIDIA DSX-aligned AI infrastructure across IREN’s global data-center pipeline over time.

The companies said future deployments are expected to focus on IREN’s 2-gigawatt Sweetwater campus in Texas, which they expect to serve as a flagship deployment for NVIDIA’s DSX architecture. They also said IREN issued NVIDIA a five-year right to purchase up to 30 million ordinary shares at $70 per share, representing a potential $2.1 billion investment subject to conditions including regulatory approvals.

The announcement combines NVIDIA’s DSX AI factory architecture with IREN’s data-center, power, land, and GPU deployment operations, with deployment targets stated in gigawatts rather than smaller facility metrics.
